what is DLB ( dynamic load balance ) ?

Dynamic load balancing is an intelligent energy management feature found in modern EV charging systems. It continuously monitors the total electrical consumption of a building or installation in real time—typically through current transformers or a smart meter—and automatically adjusts the charging output of one or more EV chargers. When other household or commercial appliances draw high power, the charger temporarily reduces its charging current to keep the overall load within the safe capacity of the main supply. Conversely, when the base load falls, the charger increases its output to charge the vehicle as quickly as conditions allow. This dynamic adjustment prevents circuit overloads, avoids nuisance tripping of main breakers, and eliminates the need for costly electrical infrastructure upgrades. It is especially valuable in residential homes, apartment complexes, and commercial facilities where available electrical capacity is limited or shared among multiple consumers. By making the most of existing power capacity, dynamic load balancing ensures safe, reliable, and efficient EV charging without compromising the electrical system.
